What to know locally in East London
Rental is common among municipal and provincial offices in Bhisho, and among contractors in the IDZ who need flexible terms. Event hire serves school events in Gonubie, weddings along Quigney and sports days in Amalinda. Cleaning and filter changes are wise in humid conditions. Technicians based in Arnoldton, Amalinda and Wilsonia cover the metro and the roads to Qonce and Dimbaza on regular runs.
Drinking water in East London
East London's water comes from dams on the Buffalo and Nahoon rivers, including Laing, Bridle Drift and Nahoon, along with Wriggleswade on the Kubusi, with Amatola Water as the bulk supplier and Buffalo City Metro running the network. Dry spells have put pressure on these dams, and ageing pipes cause bursts in Mdantsane, Duncan Village and parts of Qonce. Summers are humid and the coast is windy, so salt can reach equipment near the beachfront. The East London Industrial Development Zone, automotive suppliers in Wilsonia and offices in Vincent and Beacon Bay all use dispensers. Many households add tanks and filters.
